New Support for OmniFocus and Things

We’re excited to announce Postbox 1.1.2, which brings new support for OmniFocus and Things! These powerful integrations enable you to quickly convert emails into tasks, and to link tasks to emails - helping you organize and to get more done with less effort.

New Support for OmniFocus and Things

To get started, download the most current versions of Postbox and OmniFocus or Things, and make sure that Postbox is set as your default email reader. For additional information on setup and use, please see our knowledge base.

Postbox 1.1.2 contains several other improvements, such as faster Gmail access for both Windows and Mac, so please review our release notes for the full list of changes.

A special “Thanks!” to the terrific teams at The Omni Group and Cultured Code for their help in making these integrations possible!

    Nice update,

but will be there also some new features for windows users in near future? or is postbox primary for apple users?

Will there be support for The Hit List? (my preferred GTD solution) If so, when?

That might just tip the scales for me and get me to use Postbox.

@Nomi Support for OmniFocus and Things support was originally scheduled for 1.1.1 as part of our Macworld-themed release, but we needed some more time to develop and test, so these features had to wait for the next release train which was 1.1.2.

So while the last two releases make it appear that we’re Mac only, we’re just as dedicated to our Windows users as well!

@Jan We would like to support The Hit List.  We’re still learning more about the application, it’s anticipated 1.0 ship date, etc.

Nice update! Support for The Hit List would be great. One thing many friends ask me is, if there is/will be a global inbox. I never used this in mail but it seems to be an important feature that keeps people from switching.

@Marcus - It’s something that we’re looking at.  The challenge is to improve on what’s currently out there.  Stay tuned…

I would agree w/ Marcus on both accounts! 1) The Hit List integration would be really great since it’s my GTD application of choice also. Even though it’s like having another to-do list, being able to pin an email as a “to-do” will continue to get me through for now, I guess (great feature!).
                2) What would be really really really great, however, would be a global or combined inbox! Every time I have to click on each inbox in turn to read my new mail I wonder why anyone would exclude this feature in the first place!!

It scarcely bears repeating, but for Mac users SpamSieve is an essential tool. I’ve bought a Postbox license (i.e., I’m your paying customer) but have found that without SpamSieve I can’t complete a move away from Mail.app. Please, please, please—before adding integration with any other product, find a way to work with C-Command to get SpamSieve working with Postbox.

I’ll second (or third) the call for a global inbox. With 9 or 10 accounts, switching between them to keep up with incoming mail is a real pain. I looked at Postbox last year but went back to Mail.app because of this missing feature. The Things support is now enough to make me give it another look and try to find a workaround for this omission, but a true global inbox would make this product a no-brainer.

I’d really like to see integration of remember the milk. Having this guy on the desktop in my e-mail application would rock. (Recently switched from Things to RTM.)

I downloaded a trial of Postbox, played with it for several days and liked a lot about it. Would have purchased it, but since it doesn’t have a global inbox decided not to.

Not sure if you saw this or not, but OmniFocus is $80 for a license? I’m not sure I need that type of power for to do lists. Would be nice if you integrated with something a little more mainstream rather than the nuclear option of todos. An alternative would be a lite version of Omni for use everyday users who don’t need and don’t care to pay that much for task management software.
